In December 2024, a team of seven enthusiastic staff members from Collingwood Insurance swapped their office chairs for shop floors, lending a hand at St Oswald’s Hospice charity shop in North Shields. This heartwarming day of volunteering is just one example of Collingwood’s commitment to giving back to the local community through the Better Together Business Club, a partnership that enables businesses to make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients and families supported by the hospice.
A Day to Remember in North Shields
The Collingwood team spent the day working alongside the shop’s dedicated staff and volunteers, getting stuck into a variety of tasks.
Jess, the North Shields Shop Manager, was full of praise for the group:
“Massive thanks to Collingwood Insurance! The team were super enthusiastic and a pleasure to have with us for the day. We would love to have you back anytime!”
The experience was just as rewarding for the Collingwood staff. Jonathan Emery, one of the deputy team leaders at Collingwood, shared his thoughts on the day:
“It was a brilliant experience visiting one of the many St. Oswald’s Hospice’s charity shops in the region and seeing what they do for the local community. To be able to be a part of this, even if briefly, was thoroughly enjoyable for myself and the team here at Collingwood”.
