A North East foodbank has praised Collingwood Insurance for their recent pledge to donate over £3,000 worth of food over the course of the next 12 months.
Collingwood Insurance Services, based in North Shields, just outside of Newcastle City Centre announced their pledge in January 2021 in response to helping local communities in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Collingwood are a leading specialist insurance provider, and offer a wide range of products including, provisional licence holder short term and annual insurance, taxi driver and courier insurance plus fleet and commercial motor services.
In addition to monthly fresh food deliveries to The BAY Foodbank, Collingwood also donated 36 brand new hoodies that were purchased from Monkseaton based printers, Custer Design.
Further to monthly fresh food deliveries and warm hoodies for volunteers, Collingwood have also insured The BAY Foodbank’s primary delivery vehicle completely free of charge to help ease some running costs.
Reverend Alan Dickinson, Project Leader and founder of The BAY Foodbank said “We’re incredibly grateful for Collingwood’s donation, during what has been a terribly difficult year for everybody. Their donation really will benefit people who need that extra support from the foodbank.”
The Collingwood donation forms part of a Community Fund, which will see the company regularly donate to local charities throughout 2021.

This past year has been especially difficult for many individuals, and we hope the support that we are offering The BAY Foodbank will help those most in need.
