What is the Collingwood Driving Instructor Affiliate Programme
Collingwood’s Driving Instructor Affiliate Programme allows registered driving instructors to refer their students to Collingwood Insurance and receive a reward*. As a driving instructor in the affiliate programme, you’ll earn £50 for your first referral and £20 for each subsequent referral.
But we don’t stop there! Depending on the level of cover your student selects, they will receive either a policy discount, or a £20 rewards card! Our learner driver insurance allows your students to get more practice, and you receive a reward for referring students to Collingwood. All in all, it’s a win-win!
It’s also important to remember that all your students must buy from us directly. We can’t reward you or your students if they buy our insurance via a price comparison or discount site.
How do I join the Collingwood Driving Instructor Affiliate Programme?
Joining is easy: simply head to www.collingwoodinstructors.co.uk, hit the “register” button in the top right, and complete the registration form.
Once you’re registered, you’ll receive a unique code that you can share with your students. You’ll also get access to your own account. This is where you can check in on how many times your code has been used, access free promotional materials, and update your details.
Plus, you can opt in to our “Find an Instructor” tool to help more people find your business!
How does the Driving Instructor Affiliate Programme work?
When your students buy learner driver insurance directly from us, they can enter your unique code during the quote process.
Every time a student uses your unique code to buy a policy, it counts towards your referrals!*
Your students must buy direct from us and not via a price comparison or discount website, e.g. TopCashBack or Honey. If taking out a policy online, your student can enter your affiliate code during the quote process. If they are completing their quote over the phone, they can let the call handler know they have a code, and they will apply it for them.
By using your code, your students will benefit from an exclusive discount if they purchase a short-term learner driver policy. Alternatively, they will receive a £20 high street shopping voucher if they purchase annual learner driver insurance.
You will typically be paid within 6 weeks from when a customer uses your code. Your students can also expect to receive their reward within that time.*
You may refer as many students as you wish, but keep in mind that all of the criteria listed above must be met.
How can I get the most out of the programme?
We know that spreading the word about Collingwood, and all the benefits learner driver insurance brings a learner can be tricky, so we want to help! When you sign up to our affiliate programme, we provide you with a variety of resources to help you increase awareness.
We’ve also detailed some handy tips below that could help you get the most out of being an affiliate, and hopefully top up your income.
Sharing your code regularly allows maximum opportunity for your code to be used. By sharing learner driver information in a number of places, along with your code, you can start to get the most out of the programme.
Discussing learner driver insurance with your students
Word of mouth is one of the best ways to increase usage of your affiliate code.
Talk about Collingwood Insurance before and after lessons with your students and discuss the importance of private practice. This is also a great opportunity to share your exclusive affiliate code. Order Free Printed material
Within the Affiliate Programme portal, you can order free printed material from Collingwood.
We offer leaflets and appointment cards, and they all come with a space to write out your unique code.
You can then distribute these to your students to help spread the word and ensure they have your code handy if they choose to purchase Collingwood Learner Insurance. You can order up to 100 of each item to keep you fully stocked for all your students!
Use our promotional web banners
Also, in your online account, you will find web banners and a unique web address.
The banners can be embedded into your website, and when they are clicked, they will auto-populate with your code during the quote process. This makes it easy for people to use your code!
Web banners are possibly one of the easiest ways to share your code, as it ensures your code is auto populated and not forgotten when your student completes a quote.
Sending text messages and emails
How do you communicate with your students? Do you message them privately through WhatsApp or email? This could be an opportunity to personally send your affiliate link to them.
You could send a message or email after a lesson where you have discussed Learner Driver Insurance as a reminder, this also makes it easy for your students to use your code.
You could even add your unique link to your email footer or at the end of a text as a reminder!
Sharing on your page
You can accomplish this by simply posting about Collingwood Learner Driver Insurance on the platforms that you use.
You can share on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or others! Grab the users attention by sharing images and add your affiliate code in the text.
Even just making a post letting people know that you have joined the Collingwood Affiliate Programme can help!
We know that making graphics can be hard, but it does make posts more eye-catching. You can use free software such as Canva, which comes with a lot of templates for social media that you can use and personalise with your own images and colours.
Collingwood Insurance posts on social media on a regular basis. So, you could even make it easy and simply share our posts.
You could then write a caption with your unique link or code when sharing to your page. This lets your students know that you are part of our Affiliate Programme and allows users to look at our page and find out about Collingwood Learner Driver Insurance. We share lots of useful tips and tricks that may be helpful to your students, which is an added bonus!
Add a pinned post
On some social platforms, you can pin a post to the top of your page to make it the first thing people see when they go to your profile. This makes it clear that you are part of the programme and makes it accessible to your students when looking for your code.
Make use of the link in your bio
If you use Instagram, you can add a link to your profile. Often, this will be a link to your website if you have one, but you could also include your affiliate link.
There are many options for adding multiple links; we use Linktree (which is free to use), but there are alternatives!
This means you can promote multiple links in one place on social media. This gives you the opportunity to include your affiliate link, which we have seen some of our instructors use! You can see what our LinkTree looks like here!
Post stories
On Instagram, you can also post stories, which show up at the top of followers Instagram feed and can also be shared to Facebook. They are short images or videos that allow for updates and information. They also have features such as polls that can be used.
When you post a story, you can turn it into a highlight. Like a pinned post, this will appear at the top of your Instagram page, allowing anyone viewing your page to find your affiliate code easier.
Create video content
We know that video might not be for everyone!
It can be hard to keep up with editing and recording. If it is something you are interested in, some of our instructors have been doing very well on YouTube!
If you create video content, you can mention Collingwood in the video and link to us in the caption. to encourage viewers to use your code.
There has also been an increase in social media channels using short videos in a vertical format. Instagram reels, YouTube shorts, and TikTok are a few examples. These types of videos are often easier to make as they do not require as much editing time. This may make them more accessible for you to use, and again, you could mention the affiliate programme.
Conclusion
There are many ways that you can promote that you are part of the Collinwood Driving Instructor Affiliate Programme. By sharing your code regularly you can maximise your opportunity to top up your income.
As outlined, there are a lot of options when you are looking to promote that you are part of the Affiliate Programme! You can mix, match and experiment to find what works best for you to maximise use of your code and hopefully top up your income.
Be open to being creative and trying new things to boost your overall referrals to the Driving Instructor Affiliate Programme and help spread the word about your driving school. You could even experiment with other methods such as blogs, podcasts, and newsletters!
You may discover that handing out leaflets during lessons, or a combination of leaflets and messages to students, works well. Maybe sharing your code on social media and telling your students about the benefits works. Even just sending out an email to your students could work for you.
Whatever works best for you and your business to optimise usage of your code and allow your students to get in some extra driving practice.
